shares your concern about the conditions under which our goji berries
are grown, harvested and processed. Our berries come primarily from
the western regions of China, including the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous
Region, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Gansu and Shanxi
provinces.
Goji
harvesting in the land of the Heavenly Mountains is by no means a
small business. Goji vines are tended in countless small family
orchards, each of whom work together in a network of local
co-operatives. The profits are shared equitably amongst the
contributing growers.
More than 33
million pounds of the fruit are picked every year in these regions by
skilled workers, some of whose families have been cultivating the
berries for more than 500 years. It's a way of life for these simple
and unassuming people, and they are most happy to have FreeLifeŽ as a

which will be funded from profits of Himalayan GojiŽ Juice. The
Institute will help fund Goji research, and, by developing new
Goji-based nutritional and personal care products, FreeLifeŽ will be
advancing the economic development of these historic traditional
growing regions.
